The Project

My current project here in Georgetown Penang is called 2 Way Center. It an assesment and intervention center for children and teenagers with mental health issues. These may include

autism, attention deficit or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), dyslexia or any kind of mental health issue such as trauma and selective muteness. I will be working there as an volunteer from August until the end of my 11 month stay in Malaysia.

The first project, I worked in was called Asia Community Center(ACS), Stepping Stone. The ACS Stepping Stone was founded in 2000 and employs 12 people. The aim of the project is to enable mentally handicapped an independent life and support the life and work in the community. In the project there is the opportunity to either work in a bakery, weaving mill, and a pottery.
